A blog that will serve as my personal review for all things entertainment. I enjoy movies, music, food, and art of all forms. I felt it necessary to create this platform to serve as both a journal and a way for me to reflect on my artistic experiences. My wife has inspired me to pursue this journey as she has maintained a fashion blog for 3 years now (visit FairlyYours.com) in which I have acted as her photographer. P_review is not a way for me to get famous or bash others, but instead a constructive place to allow me to express myself. Please feel free to use the blog to ask questions and learn about daily culture. Thank you for joining me on this adventure.
About the P:
Background: My name is Patrick (hence the “P”). I am a 29-year-old male who lives in downtown Chicago with my wife and miniature dachshund. I am a Physical Therapist working for Athletico and I enjoy spending my spare time with friends and family.
Music: I grew up on 90s rap. Hip-hop will serve as a great focus when it comes to music to be reviewed. That being said, I also have a deep background in Motown, classic rock, and a little bit of jazz. A few of my heroes are Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Kanye West, and Dr. Dre. There will be reviews on every type of music except for country – nothing against it, just not a fan.
Movies: I. Love. Movies. So much so that every year I make an effort to see every Academy Award Best Picture nominee. There’s not a movie that I won’t see. I’m a big fan of dramas and comedies, and am a sucker for a good Rom-Com. I will admit that horror films will be a minority on this forum, but not excluded.
Food: I eat everything. I am lucky to have fast metabolism because without it I would probably be 1000lbs. Italian and Mexican food is typically my favorites, but my wife and I visit a new restaurant on a weekly basis. Many of the restaurants I will be reviewing will be local to Chicago, however I also plan to discuss those I attend while traveling.
Art: I am going to be honest; I don’t know the first thing about art. All I can say is that I enjoy it. I love visiting murals in the city, discovering new local artists, and visiting the Art Institute. I have a passion for taking photos and will be posting them intermittently to share my experiences.
Sports: Fun fact about me I was born next to Charles Barkely’s daughter in Philadelphia, PA. I’ve been a Philly fan my whole life, but will shamefully admit to joining the Cubs bandwagon since moving to Chicago. I am a Michigan State University alum and a die hard Spartan. Go green! I will talk about sports, but not as much as the above.
