NFL Playoffs 2019
Although the post is after the playoffs started, I made my picks public (via Instagram) prior. Below, I discuss the NFC, AFC, and Superbowl predictions.
NFC - coming off our first Super Bowl Championship ever, you'd think I'd ride my hometown team and go with the Philadelphia Eagles. I mean they have it all going for them: Foles magic, winning streak, and the return of the underdog mentality. But I've got to go with New Orleans this year. Here's why. Super Dome (home field) for the entire playoffs. No one matches up well with them. Drew Brees is a future Hall of Famer. And Sean Payton gets the best of of his players. Please refer to the 40point beatdown we received earlier in the season. I thank god every day that the Vikings beat the Saints in the 2018 playoffs. We may not be reigning world champions if Stefon Diggs doesn't make the miracle play in last years semi-finals. Either way, I'm cheering for the birds, but picking the NOLA.
New Orleans Saints
AFC - Everyone is high on the Mahomes lead Chiefs and Rivers' Chargers. Kansas City is great, and pretty much the full package. But take it from someone who has lots of experience with Andy Reid lead teams (former Eagles coach). He will blow it. He always does. And that doesn't take away from his legacy; he will be a hall of famer some day. Same goes with the Chargers, but instead Philip Rivers. The guy puts up amazing stats, and is a top quarterback. But he will blow it. There's only one team I can put my trust in, and that is the safe bet. The New England Patriots. Tom Terrific + Belichick = GOAT. It took a perfect game and all the stops for the Eagles to beat them last year, and it was just barely. They will go down as one of the best teams in football history. Cheering for the Chiefs, and picking the Pats.
New England Patriots
Super Bowl Champions - This is a tough decision, because both bring a lot to the table. At the end of the day, I think we have a repeat of last years game. A shoot-out. Drew Brees has more weapons, and I think the defense does just enough to get the job done. Giving the NFC back to back wins, and yet again sending the Patriots home empty-handed. Gonna be an exciting game, and I'm expecting more scoring/offensive records to be broken.
