Mott Street Burger

One of my first posts was on burgers in Chicago, and it appears my list will need to be updated.  My wife and I recently went on a brewery crawl around the city.  Our first stop was at Hopewell, a Wicker Park brewery which featured food from the restaurant Mott Street.  Annie and I had been to Mott Street prior, but were unable to order the burger (will explain later in post).  Lucky for us, now was the time.

I'm gonna get right to it.  This is the best burger in the city.  It's not too fancy, and not too plain.  The sandwich has the perfect compliment of flavors incorporating sweet potato shoe strings, pickled jalapeños, american cheese, and dill pickle.  It is then topped off with aioli and miso butter.  A bit messy, but altogether great.  I was pleasantly surprised by it's perfection.

Ordering the Mott Street burger is a bit of a conundrum.  It can only be purchased in the restaurant from 6-7pm.  From 7pm and beyond you have to be at the bar to experience this beauty.  Side note, Mott Street has more than just burgers and is a top notch restaurant.  So even if you don't get the burger, there is plenty else on the menu to feed your appetite.
