World Series 2018
Technically my FIRST sports post! I say that as my original sports post was about a stomach virus I suffered that I found comparative to a boxing match :) I have been extremely lacking in this category since my blogging started, and it is disappointing to me as I am a huge sports nut! The World Series playoffs will be my topic.
As I discussed on Instagram, I know very little about Major League Baseball. Yes, I understand the sport, the rules, and have knowledge regarding specific divisions and leagues However, I could not name most of the players, team strategies, or who is favored. For that reason, I have little confidence in my current picks, but I will give it my best shot.
Most of my background is related to the Chicago Cubs.... RIP losing in the Wild Card last night. This leads me to my choice of the National League (NL) champion pick to be the Milwaukee Brewers. A team that was all but counted out a few weeks ago. They went on to win 9 games in a row, including a tiebreaker against the Cubs to decide the divisional champion. Typically, when a team comes into the October this hot, they go far and have a good chance of winning it all.
The American League appears to be wide open. Teams like the Yankees and Red Sox are back to their winning ways, and look very strong. Since I watch little to no AL baseball, I have to go with the 2 seeded and the reigning champs Houston Astros. They were the first team to clinch their division months ago, and appear to be unstoppable again.
My World Series Champion choice is..... THE BREW CREW (Milwaukee Brewers). I've seen it too many times with these hot teams, and I feel that they will continue to ride this confidence all the way to hoisting up the trophy. Could I name one player on the team? No. Do I know who their coach is? No. But they're on fire, and no one is putting out their flame. Looking forward to October and all the magical moments it brings.
