A Quiet Place

During my 2019 Oscar's review, I listed A Quiet Place among my movie snubs.... without ever seeing it.  As now Amazon Prime members, we were able to watch it over the weekend via streaming services.  Bottom line, I still agree it was snubbed of a nominee.

John Krasinski's directoral debut is a hit.  The movie is suspenseful, thrilling, and an edge of your seat horror/drama that you can't keep your eyes off of (even though sometimes you may want to close them).  He and his wife (Emily Blunt) both star in the film, and do an amazing job.

Quick background: the story is about a family living in post-apocalyptic earth with aliens/creatures that hunt people based on sound.  Through cinematography, non-verbal acting, and character development, Krasinski tells a great story.  I felt the movie was the perfect length and did a wonderful job of bringing everything full circle.

A modern-day silent film, A Quiet Place is bold and strong.  I recommend to all, but warn against those who jump/fright easily.  Not necessarily scary, but not a Disney movie either.  If it helps, my wife hates horror-films, and she loved it :)
