Stranger Things (Season 3)

Annie and I have been huge fans of Stranger Things since the show released 3 years ago on Netflix.  I describe it to people as a cross between The Goonies and Alien.  With the series taking place in the late 70s to early 80s, there is also a nice rewind to all of the fashion and culture of the time period.  Stranger Things is fun, suspenseful, and not too scary.  If you haven't started yet, I highly recommend dipping into the first season.

Stranger Things is about 4 nerdy kids growing up in small-town Indiana.  They have been picked on most of their lives, but have developed a strong bond in each other.  The show begins with one of the friends going missing and the crew working together to find him.  They embark on an adventure in which they discover different dimensions, scary monsters, and a new friend who happens to have special powers.  Stranger Things holds great lessons on bullying, friendship, and believing in yourself.

The newest addition to the series is the most complete show I have seen since Breaking Bad.  It is flawless.  No stone is left unturned, and every character, moment, and subplot is essential to the story.  The writing weaves everything full circle, and ties it into a perfect bow.  There is laughter, sadness, and joy throughout, taking you on a wonderful rollercoaster.  I have not been this passionate about a show in a long time, and am so proud of the Duffer Brothers for the piece of work they created.
